What is Short-Term Disability Insurance?
A type of coverage that replaces a portion of your income if injury or illness prevents you from working. It provides financial security for you and any loved ones who may depend on your ability to earn a paycheck. You may also hear disability insurance referred to as disability income insurance or income protection.
Short-Term Disability Plan Rules:

Eligibility: Eligible employees, as described on page 1

Coverage through MetLife

Employee must be actively at work on the effective date

Must exhaust all sick leave prior to using benefit. Disability benefits do not pay in-addition to sick leave

Annual Open Enrollments with no health questions

Pre-existing condition limitation will apply to new enrollees

Paid Parental Leave must be used in conjunction with FMLA
